Miss Derringer
is a Los Angeles based band heavily influenced by American music of the late-50s and early-60s particularly the vintage sounds of outlaw country like performers Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash or the girl group pop of the Ronettes and Shangri Las. The band also finds inspiration in the music and attitude of early punk bands like the Misfits and Black Flag.
The band's lyrics deal with honkytonk subjects like prison, alcohol, sobriety, God, death, murder, and alcohol.

features drummer Clem Burke from Blondie and is co-produced by Derrick O'Brien formely of Social Distortion and currently in The Adolescents.

Miss McGrath fronts the band along with her husband and rythmn guitar player Morgan Slade. Sylvain de Muizon (bass), Cody Cox (drums) and Lightnin’ Bill Woodcock round out the outfit.
This here band makes me want to hop freights, rob banks, fall in love with ladies in small desert towns and get my heart broken all while under the influence of fine tennesee whiskey.
"Black Tears" sounds so antiquated and modern at the same time. It's like taking "The Crystals" and "The Shangri-las" and mixing them with beautiful you. Have you thought about covering "Remember, walking in the sand?" or something like that?
So keep creating beautiful tunes in this ugly world. We need it, believe me.
